Systematic reviews and meta-analyses are top-class evidence and form the basis for clinical guidelines. They are recognized as a high quality standard in both preclinical and clinical research. In addition, the standardisation of preclinical and clinical research and their reproducibility, for example through the development of core outcome sets, is becoming increasingly important.

Our working group has specialised – in close cooperation with the Cochrane Heart Group – on systematic reviews and meta-analyses in the areas of cardiovascular and perioperative medicine.
